Protect Life! Contact House Leadership and Tell Them to Immediately Pass HCS HJR 73

Thanks to your efforts, we were able to block the disastrous HJR 54 from being passed and forced House Leadership to give it one more push to do the right thing and pass a ballot initiative to repeal Amendment 3.  

On Thursday, the House Legislative Rules Committee passed a new version of a bill to repeal Amendment 3. This bill is HCS HJR 73, sponsored by Representative Ed Lewis, and will be handled by Representative Brian Seitz. 

We thank Representative Holly Jones, Chair of the Children and Families Committee for leading this effort and enduring all the crazy people in the hearing to get it through her committee quickly.

We need you to contact Speaker Jon Patterson at 573-751-0907 or e-mail Jonathan.patterson@house.mo.gov and Majority Leader Alex Riley at 573-751-2210 or e-mail at alex.riley@house.mo.gov and tell them to Perfect and pass HCS HJR 73 as soon as possible.

We also need you to contact your Representative and tell them to support HCS HJR 73. If they stand for life and stand against the transgender mob mutilating our children, then they MUST support this bill.

HCS HJR 73 is very similar to SCS SJR 33 sponsored by Senator Adam Schnelting. HCS HJR 73 contains the following:

  • Restricts abortions to rape, incest, and medical emergencies and only limits the time frame for rape and incest cases to 12 weeks

  • Prohibits abortions based on prenatal diagnosis, test, or screening indicating a disability in an unborn child, except in cases of a fetal anomaly

  • Prohibits public funding for abortions

  • Prohibits gender transition surgeries for minors and prohibits cross-sex hormones or puberty-blocking drugs

  • Gives the legislature the ability to enact laws that regulate the provisions of abortions, abortion facilities, and abortion providers

  • Prohibits fetal organ harvesting

  • Restores parental control for minors seeking an abortion

We have four weeks left in the session and every day that is spent discussing this bill is a delay in passing this important proposed ballot initiative. Missouri Right to Life and the Senate have conducted several polls and SJR 33 will pass in Missouri by a higher percentage than the original Amendment 3 received. This is our only chance to pass a ballot initiative to repeal Amendment 3 and be successful at the ballot box.

 We need to send a strong message to the pro-abortion and pro-transgender mobs to keep their hands off our children, born and unborn.
